German airline Lufthansa will cancel 900 flights on Wednesday as pilots strike once more over pay.
The cancellations will have an effect on round 100,000 passengers, Lufthansa stated.
The commercial motion is a part of a long-running pay battle between the German provider and the pilots’ union Vereinigung Cockpit (VC), which has now organised 14 strikes since April 2014.
Brief and medium-haul flights from Germany will probably be affected from 00:01 to 23:59 native time (23:01-22:59 GMT).
Flights by Lufthansa’s different airways together with Eurowings, Swiss, Austrian Airways, Air Dolomiti and Brussels Airways usually are not affected by the strike, Lufthansa stated.
Pay talks between the Vereinigung union and the German airline broke down earlier this month, and Lufthansa stated the union had “persistently rejected the provide” of mediation.
The union is looking for a three.7% pay rise for five,400 pilots courting again to 2012.
Lufthansa, which is dealing with rising competitors from price range rivals, provided a 2.5% improve over the six years till 2019.
In the meantime, a separate dispute with cabin crew at Lufthansa’s low-cost subsidiary, Eurowings, led it to cancel greater than 60 flights on Tuesday.
